Field Sports
Varsity and Junior Varsity field sports crucial elements among Zama High School's extracurricular activities. Football and Soccer games, the schools' two most popular sports, regularly draw sizable crowds from the surrounding community. Both sports have consistently been the the center of extracurricular attraction for Zama High School, with standings regularly reported in local newspapers, including the Torii and game edits being regularly filmed and assembled for broadcast on ZHS CCTV or the Commander's Access Channel USARJ 12.

Track and Field, Cross-Country, Tennis, and Cheerleading are also popular extra-curricular activities which form the rest of ZHS's outdoor sports. Cheerleading, an all-year sport, is particularly difficult, with very competitive and rigorous tryouts prior to joining.


The apex of the football season occurs during during the week prior to the Homecoming Game. During every day of this Spirit Week, students wear unusual costumes and participate in outrageous lunchtime activities and competitions, seeking to display their support for the football team and their school spirit. The Homecoming Game is followed by The Homecoming Dance, which was held this year in the new Camp Zama Community Cultural Center.
